What about just having your ranger pets wondering aimlessly about the GH and not following you everywhere? They have to have some time at home, don't they?...and they could make peaceful sounds instead of the combat ones.
[Edit: Each present character's (primary?) profession should have some effect on the guild hall grounds. They could range from funny to interesting to disturbing. I'm not going to come up with them all but it should be fair to characters other than rangers as well.]

Guild mascots would be nice... A pet kitty for e.g... Also cmdratz had a good idea with your pet wondering around the hall, maybe evening playing fetch? haha

It would be fun that the leader had a 'miniature slot' in the Guild panel, to put a miniature that would appear in the hall even is she is not logged in.

Haha that same kitty is in the naphui quarter mission, just round the corner from the phoenix; I wondered what the hell it was when I first saw it curling into a ball when I used to solo farm the mission with my monk. But yeah, I want it in my guild hall too, s'cute! xD

Yep my girl also adores cats, so a kitty minipet would be great... I would sooo kill myself from farming/trading to get her one

That's just an unselectable animated bundle object, like tendrils, or those dolyaks in Shiverpeaks' outposts.

I love cats... but they could just apply some other skin to any of the 'cats' models and let it loose in the Guild Hall, XD.

Or... even beter... a miniature Siamese Cat or Black Cat would rock...
